What is Golden Boutique?

Golden Boutique is a mobile boutique that brings clothing shopping directly into nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and senior communities. We create a real shopping experience with clothing racks, displays, music, and one-on-one assistance so residents can browse and shop with dignity, independence, and fun.

Do you only sell adaptive clothing?

Nope! We carry both adaptive clothing (easy-on/off, magnetic closures, open-back options, etc.) and everyday pre-loved fashion like tops, sweaters, dresses, jackets, jeans, pajamas, accessories, and more. Our goal is to offer comfort, style, and practicality for those in their golden years.

Are the clothes free?

No — Golden Boutique is a small business, not a nonprofit. We work hard to keep prices affordable while covering travel, setup, inventory, and operating costs so we can continue visiting facilities and reaching more residents. Most items are typically priced around $4–$20.

We also offer support through our Golden Gift Fund, which helps provide clothing assistance to residents in need through community-supported gift cards.

Are you a nonprofit?

No, we are not a nonprofit or charity. Golden Boutique is a mission-driven small business created by two long-term care workers who wanted to bring joy, dignity, and accessible shopping experiences to seniors.

Where do your clothes come from?

Our inventory is a mix of carefully curated pre-loved clothing, new items, adaptive wear, and community donations. We hand-pick pieces with comfort, practicality, and style in mind.

Do you sanitize clothing before selling?

Yes! All pre-loved clothing is washed, steamed, and inspected before being added to our boutique.

What sizes do you carry?

We try to stock a wide range of sizes from XS–3X depending on availability. Because many items are one-of-a-kind, sizing and styles vary from event to event.

How do I know if something will fit?

During facility visits, residents are able to hold items up, compare sizing, and receive assistance from us, staff, or family members. We do our best to help everyone find something comfortable and confidence-boosting.

How do facility visits work?

We bring our boutique directly into the facility and set up a full shopping experience with racks, displays, mirrors, and accessories. Residents, families, and staff are welcome to browse and shop in a familiar and comfortable environment.

Who can shop?

Residents are our main focus, but family members, visitors, and staff are welcome to shop too during many of our events.

How do I schedule a boutique visit for my facility?

Simply contact us through our website, email, or social media pages. We’ll work with your facility to coordinate a date, space, and details for the visit.

How far do you travel?

We are based in Minnesota but travel throughout the Midwest and beyond for facility visits and events. We’ve traveled hundreds of miles for some visits! Reach out to see if we can come to your area.

Do you travel outside of Minnesota?

We currently travel throughout Minnesota and North Dakota. We are also open to discussing future visits in other states as our schedule and travel capacity allow.

Can you come to community events or senior expos?

Absolutely! We love participating in community events, senior expos, fundraisers, and special gatherings focused on older adults and caregivers.

Do facilities pay for visits?

Typically, no. Residents shop directly from us during the event. In some situations involving extensive travel or special events, additional arrangements may be discussed.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, credit/debit cards, checks, resident trust accounts (when available through the facility), and digital payments through our Square checkout system.

Do you offer returns or exchanges?

Because each piece is unique, all sales are final. If there is ever a concern about an item, please reach out to us and we’ll do our best to help.

Do you take donations?

Yes! We accept gently used, clean, stylish clothing donations that align with our mission. We especially appreciate clothing appropriate for seniors and adaptive-friendly pieces.

Can I volunteer or start something like this in my area?
